Statistician are great candidates for data scientist with solid knowledge in modeling and extensive experience in data. However, to become a successful data scientist, statistician needs to get familiar with the agile-style project flow and eventually lead the end-to-end project cycle working seamlessly with business stakeholders, data engineers, software developers, and project managers. There are many ways a data science project could fail, a successful data scientist will identify and avoid these pitfalls early. In this talk, I will introduce data science project cycle, pitfalls and soft skills to bridge the gap between statistician and successful data scientist.
