Compared to the frequentist method, Bayesian approach offers many advantages as it is more intuitive, directly addressing the question of interest, properly accounting for uncertainty, allowing the incorporation of utility for decision making with multiple outcomes (e.g., efficacy and toxicity), etc. Bayesian framework is ideally suitable for adaptive designs which are more flexible and can be more efficient than the standard frequentist-based designs. In this roundtable, I will share practical guidelines for the successful implementation and introduce many useful tools for the design and conduct of Bayesian adaptive trials including downloadable programs and Shiny applications. Participants are also encouraged to share their experiences, challenges, and successful examples of applying Bayesian adaptive designs in clinical trials.
