Abstract:

Testing the hypothesis of Lorenz order (dominance) has been examined with the empirical quantile process and evaluated with bootstrapped p-values in the literature. We consider an elementary approach to constructing a likelihood ratio test for the Lorenz order and demonstrate the analytic p-values with a few basic distributions. A simulation study and a data analysis are employed to illustrate the proposed test.
