The concept of loss aversion in professional golf has been studied in the context of putting for birdie versus putting for par. However, there are additional, notable events in golf where loss aversion might impact the outcome of a professional golfer's hole, round, or tournament, as well as how a particular tournament (course) might play from one year to the next. In this talk, we will describe two potential manifestations of loss aversion in professional golf, and test if there is evidence to support these hypotheses.
