It is an exciting time for analytics as more and more companies realize the value that it brings. Small to medium businesses, though, can have both unique opportunities and challenges to implementing analytics. As they move from spreadsheets to modeling, there are considerations in data processing, standardization, staffing & productionalizing that can be easy for larger companies, but more challenging for smaller. This roundtable will give people the opportunity to share and learn strategies with others in similar situations.
+ Where technology connects you to your customers, via web logs and social media, is probably simpler for smaller companies but how do you collect and understand? + How do you tie address-based customer or supplier interactions to other information to lead to insightful discoveries? + How do you move from spreadsheet mania to even simple databases to explore relationships between data that may not always be easily understood? + How do you analyze what you buy from your suppliers in ways that help you focus the business on where your core business value lays? + How do we add that data management and analytical layer when it may not need full time expertise?
