As a private consultant-whether full-time or part-time, paid or volunteer-it is important to identify a group (or groups) of clients with whom you collaborate well. There are many issues to take into account while doing so, including (among others):
Your statistical background
Your background in areas outside of statistics
The needs of the potential client group(s)
The capacity of the potential client group(s) to provide the return you want
Your pre-existing connections to your potential client group(s), and your ability to build new connections
Please join this roundtable if you would like to be part of a conversation about finding and engaging clients in a way that leads to mutually successful partnerships.
