Abstract:

We obtain the distribution of the squared Euclidean interpoint distances (IPD) for observations taken from the Multivariate Power Series and Unfi ed Multivariate Hypergeometric distributions. We find the distribution of IPDs within one sample and across two independent samples. We explore these distances for specifi c distributions within the two families, and obtain their corresponding means, variances and covariances. We also find the distribution IPDs from mixture distributions of the above two families. An applications in goodness of fit testing is considered.
