Abstract:
|
Generalized linear models (GLMs) and extensions are ubiquitous in statistical studies, but their full potential are yet to be exploited by the broad astrophysical community. This talk summarizes my efforts together with Professor Joseph Hilbe to introduce the methodology in the Astrophysical field. I will show scientific applications that benefit from GLMs that range from probing the presence of supermassive black holes in galaxy clusters to counts of stellar populations in galaxies.
