Abstract #326955
Title: Framing Reproducibility Issues in Computationally- and Data-Enabled Research?
Author(s): Victoria Stodden*
Companies: University of Illinois

Data used for research in the Social and Behavioral Sciences often has confidentiality requirements and may be publicly produced, meaning a government agency or other entity is charged with data collection and access. In this talk I will discuss a framing to delineate reproducibility in the production of data, from reproducibility in the analysis of data. Although related, these are conceptually distinct and I will discuss steps toward enabling transparency and reproducibility for both frameworks, and defining a research pipeline by linking these two frameworks.
