Abstract:

In this session, we'll talk about what it takes to build a successful data-driven project. We'll discuss different needs, challenges and approaches to applying data science for social good, highlighting a few real world examples, including the use of open data to prevent home fire deaths and predictive modeling to reduce traffic related deaths by enabling cities to test the effectiveness of street safety interventions and understand crash-related factors.
