Abstract:
|
Small wearable trackers built on accelerometers have allowed continuous monitoring of free-living physical activity in large observational studies. Various levels of accelerometry data are collected, including densely sampled acceleration time series and summarized activity level in certain epochs. In some studies, metabolic rate of human body is also measured in laboratory setting in addition to the accelerometry data. However, combining all these data sources and associating them with health factors still remains challenging. We hereby propose an analytic pathway to 1) extract information from the combined metabolic and accelerometry data collected in the lab; 2) further associate such information with the accelerometry data collected in free-living environment and 3) investigate the relationship of the data and key health factors.
