Abstract:
|
In this paper, we study change-point problems for the number of modes in circular data. Such problems can arise in a variety of applications such as stem-cell research, meteorology, etc. We use a mixture of two circular normal distributions to model the observed data and derive tests do detect the presence and location of change-points in such data. Theoretical as-well-as empirical properties of the proposed tests are presented.
