Abstract:

Pharmacometric (Pm) Programming specializes in creating modeling-ready datasets for Pm analyses. The Pm data creation process faces many difficulties including lack of industry standards on Pm datasets, disparate data sources, evolving data collection standards over time, source data accuracy and completion, and complicated programming logic due to the additional requirements of the specialized software for Pm analyses. These difficulties make it even more challenging to achieve quick turn-around with good quality and traceability. At this presentation, these challenges will be explained in details and the strategies to overcome them will be discussed. This presentation will also highlight the differences between statistical programming and Pm programming and demonstrate Pm programming is an exciting career development opportunity for statistical programmers.
