Abstract

In early 2016, Montgomery College, a two-year college near Washington, DC, began development of a credit bearing Data Science Certificate program. With encouragement from professional organizations, colleges, and data scientists in industry and government, the program's first course is scheduled to be offered in August 2017. This presentation will discuss the steps, successes, and challenges encountered to this point in the development of this certificate program.
