Abstract:
|
This talk reports on a foray into quantum computing to explore the potential of a quantum computer as a co-processor for high performance computing systems, particularly with respect to data analysis. A singular value decomposition is the computational kernel behind principal components analysis and an important compute-intensive part of many data analysis computations. We describe our attempt to map a recently published quantum algorithm for singular value decomposition onto an adiabatic quantum system.
