Title: Leveraging Machine Learning in the Analysis of Safety Data in Drug Research and Healthcare Informatics
Author(s): Melvin Munsaka*
Companies: Safety Statistics and Observational Res Analytics, Takeda
Keywords: Safety ; Healthcare Informatics ; Machine Learning ; Big Data
Abstract:

Safety signals are often a major concern in drug development and healthcare informatics. It is clearly acknowledged that safety data is targeted to become available with much more detail, variety, and with a reduced time lag. This is expected due to electronic sensors and various new digital data sources that are making their way in both the premarketing and post marketing phases in drug and healthcare research. In this discussion, we will consider applications of machine learning approaches and selected tools that often feature in the analysis of big data as they relate to drug research and healthcare pertaining to safety topics.
