Abstract #323182
Title: Meetings: Turning Stumbling Blocks into Stepping Stones
Author(s): Douglas Zahn*
Companies: Zahn & Associates
Keywords: complaints ; POWER ; model ; delighted ; tailor ; successful
Abstract:

What are your biggest complaints about meetings--consultations, collaborations, annual review, boss and staff member, statistician and non-statistician? Many meeting complaints can be avoided or turned into opportunities. We will use the POWER process to model a successful meeting, addressing concerns identified by attendees in advance of the roundtable. The POWER process consists of five steps: PREPARE, OPEN, WORK, END, and REFLECT. Once registered, you will be sent a link to an anonymous online form to report two of your most frequent complaints along with your answer to this question: What will have to happen in this roundtable for you to be delighted with the resources you have spent on it? Responses submitted before July 22, 2017 will be used to tailor the complaints addressed during the roundtable. Please be as specific as possible so that we can determine at the end whether we had a successful meeting.
