Abstract:

Simulation models have been developed for many different scientific applications. These simulations are often capable of generating large amounts of data. Statistical methods are need to probe and study these models with the goals of summarizing data, detecting changes in the behavior of simulation outputs, identifying important variables, and selecting informative time steps. Different methods for change detection will be discussed, along with ideas on how to use change detection concepts to study various aspects of simulation models.
