Abstract:

In parallel to conducting a survey on adaptive designs, the DIA Adaptive Designs Scientific Working Group (DIA ADSWG) performed a literature review to summarize information about adaptive designs used in clinical studies. Literature reviews were performed for each 4-year time period similarly as for the implementation of the survey: 2000-2003, 2004-2007, 2008-2011, and 2012-2015. The information was gathered from articles in both biomedical journals and statistical journals. The design of the literature search will be described and the results will be summarized to provide the landscape of AD usage in pharmaceutical clinical trials.
