Survey data collection has been changing disruptively with technology advancement, availability of new and different data sources, and the growing demand for timely dissemination of reliable information by government agencies. In particular, government agencies are encountering enormous pressures to disseminate information to the public in a timely manner, and more importantly, with high quality. This is not a small challenge. I would like to see participants share their experiences of making the transition from traditional data collections to the one to meet those challenges. For fruitful discussion, a few questions have been provided, including, but not limited to, the following: Does your primary method for data collections get changed in a way o to use other sources of data o to do non-traditional data collections (e.g., non-probability, opt-in online panel, etc)? Did you need to compromise data quality to meet timeliness of data delivery, or vice versa? What technological challenges have you encountered that required a necessary transition of data collection practices to effectively meet the need?
