Abstract:
|
Dr. Lawrence H. Cox (Larry) was an expert in the field of protecting the confidentiality of Census Bureau survey and census respondents and their data. This is a legal requirement (Title 13 U.S. Code and CIPSEA) and an ethical requirement that applies to both people and establishments. This presentation will highlight just some of his vast amount of work in the fields of cell suppression for economic tabular data, linear sensitivity rules for economic tabular data, and controlled tabular adjustment for demographic tabular data. It will also include fond memories of Larry as a mentor and friend to all of his co-workers at the Census Bureau and in other statistical agencies in the U.S. and around the world.
