Abstract:

We provide a model-based approach to estimating HIV relative risk in different parts of India. The proposed method uses a conditional autoregressive structure with neighborhood- or distance-based weight matrix to incorporate spatial dependence as well as information on several covariates. The method is applied to 2011 data to develop a HIV risk map and identify effective HIV control strategies.
