Title: SENSE-Induced Correlation in Simultaneous Multi-Slice fMRI
Author(s): Daniel Rowe*

Keywords: fMRI ; correlation ; SENSE ; SMS ; multiband ; MRI
Abstract:

In fMRI, it is important to acquire images of the brain as rapidly as physically possible to cover the necessary brain, but also to capture cognitive temporal dynamics. The SENSE in-plane reconstruction technique has greatly contributed to decreasing image scan time. It has been shown that in-pane SENSE reconstruction yields long-range correlation between voxels in the folds. The same SENSE technique has been applied through-plane to decrease scan time. It is shown that when SENSE is applied through-plane, it yields long-range correlation between voxels in the slices.
