In our experience, high-school teachers in Puerto Rico (PR) rarely use resources available in English for teaching statistics and probability. Low students' English proficiency in the island, particularly in public high schools, and the inclusion of data sets and topics that might not be culturally relevant for students in PR are arguably the two main reasons for their limited use of statistics education resources. We present our work to address the lack of materials in Spanish for teaching statistics and probability in the island. We created a repository of supplementary materials for high schools level statistics education aligned with the PR Common Core Standards. This repository called RepASA, hosts lesson plans in Spanish, and in many cases the activities include data sets of PR. Along with the repository we proposed workshops for teachers and visits to schools in the Western region of PR. Currently, we have engaged more than 150 high-school teachers in professional development activities and we will impact about 200 students through our visits to schools. We present results of a survey that assesses the uses of the materials by teachers that participated in the project.
