Title: The Best of Two Worlds: Collaborative Assessment and Two-Stage Testing
Author(s): Anne Michele Millar*
Companies: Mount Saint Vincent University
Keywords: student assessment ; statistics education ; two stage testing
Abstract:

Collaborative assessment is commonly used for assessing group projects and assignments, but collaborative tests are still relatively new. Two stage testing allows students to write an individual test, and then repeat the test, with a group. The assessment is a combination of the two marks. I will discuss my experience with two stage testing, advantages and disadvantages, and give an overview of some of the current research.
