Topics will include how Peter came to join the faculty at UC Davis, his impact on the department and some events that happened during his tenure in Davis such as his election as Foreign Correspondent of the National Academy of Sciences. This will be complemented by a brief outline of his work in Functional Data Analysis and discussion of current trends in this field.
