Abstract #318702
Title: Local Warming: A Tale of Two Cities
Author(s): Lewis VanBrackle*
Companies: Kennesaw State University
Keywords: Climate Change ; Global Warming
Abstract:

We hear a lot about Global Warming, and we hear statements like, "Last year was the warmest on record" and "The Seychelles will be under water soon." We do not hear much about the local changes accompanying Global Warming. How have things changed in places I am familiar with? In this poster, I look at changes in the mean seasonal temperatures, dates of first and last frost, and the number of consecutive frost-free days per year in two of my favorite places - Savannah, GA, my hometown and Blacksburg, VA, the home of my alma mater.
