Abstract:
|
This talk shows how a specialty chemical company turned a profit via a clever combining of subject-matter chemistry knowhow with specialized tools for mixture design of experiments (DOE). Problems were twofold; costly production of small batches of specialty products and large batches of commodity products with marginal markup. Fixed overhead expenses on top of everything else ate away the profits. As you will learn from this talk, using good chemistry along with mixture DOE to replace the batch processes with continuous-blending operations proved to be the key to success.
