Abstract:

Celebrating Women in Statistics: Know Your Power, the first statistics conference specifically targeting women, was well received and inspiring for many young women statisticians. Women are highly visible in numbers and action among the ASA membership, so why hold a separate conference specifically targeted to women? This talk will share some key moments and accomplishments from the May, 2014 conference and will discuss goals of the second to be held October 20-22, 2016 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Beyond the conference a vision for changing the status of women in the field of statistics and data science will be discussed.

Authors who are presenting talks have a * after their name.
