Abstract:

Statistical consulting is the bridge connecting our statistical world to all other sciences. We are inviting senior people from academia, government and industry to share their wonderful stories and wisdom as a statistical consultant, and how statistics can change the world. We will also have a set of interesting and challenging questions for each panelist to discuss. Some example questions include, What kind of person/personality you think would enjoy your work? When have you felt like crying (and/or laughing) at work? How can academia better prepare students to become effective statistical collaborators? How do you manage your services to improve their quality and reduce costs?
