Abstract:
|
One key benefit of a longitudinal study is the ability to observe and record how variables change over time. This growth pattern could be driven by baseline and/or time-varying covariates. We compare tools and propose strategies within the standard generalized linear model framework and the new life-course/trajectory model approach to account for these complex relationships with growth in contrast to the outcome level. Misunderstandings of the behavior of these methods may have led to incorrect conclusions in studies of the factors that impact childhood growth.
