Abstract #317100
Title: A Review of Split-Plot Design and Its Deviations
Author(s): Yujin Wen* and Mark Bailey
Companies: Texas A&M University and SAS Institute
Keywords: split-plot ; design of experiment ; missing values
Abstract:

Split-plot design (SPD) is one of the most widely used designs in research and production. The original form of SPD is well documented in textbooks and journal articles, yet deviation in subplot, such as replication, covariate and subsampling are rarely discussed in details. This review is intended to discuss the details of these deviance versions of SPDs, and establish models for proper data analyses. Moreover, real world datasets tend to have missing values causing unbalance in design. An example is included to show the applications of SPD with deviations and how to handle missing values.
