Abstract:

In this paper we consider a fully sequential test in multi-center clinical trials. We assume that the patients are entered in a staggered fashion and randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The sequential probability ratio test compares the treatment effects on the survival distribution while allowing for the site effects and censoring. Using the nonlinear renewal theory, we determine the upper and lower boundaries for the optimal stopping time by the limiting distribution of the excess. The method is illustrated by using a real data set.
