Abstract:
|
Data privacy is complex, multifaceted issue that requires very careful consideration when using biomedical data to enable sound clinical practices and scientific discovers. In this talk, we give an overview of privacy issues in scientific research. We highlight the roles that traditional statistical disclosure limitation techniques have in this setting along with those at the interplay with more recent notions stemming from computer sciences literature, such as differential privacy.
