Abstract:
|
In the era of big data, sampled data is still important in controlling the usage of storage and logging resources as well as in creating smaller data sets for which analyses may be run quickly or for which more complex analyses become feasible. We present methods for constructing simple random samples in a distributed and streaming fashion as well as constructing the largest possible combined simple random sample from a set of simple random samples.
