Abstract:

In this presentation, we will discuss the reliability functions, namely, the failure rate, mean residual life function and the variance residual life function, for discrete variables. Their monotonicity and relationships will be investigated. Similar functions for the past life will be considered. The hazard rates and the reversed hazard rates for the series and parallel systems will also be considered.
