Title: Infusing Bayesian Thinking in Collaborative Projects
Author(s): Alyson Wilson*
Companies: North Carolina State University
Keywords: Bayesian ; collaboration ; consulting
Abstract:

For many collaborative projects, Bayesian methods are a natural fit. For example, the projects may have substantial prior data or expert knowledge that can be incorporated into an analysis. However, nonstatistician collaborators often have little training in Bayesian methods, or they worry the methods are "too subjective" or "unscientific." In this roundtable, we will discuss examples of collaborations that have incorporated Bayesian methods and strategies for introducing these methods into the projects.
