Abstract:
|
Comparing graphs is crucial to many scientific uses of networks. Useful comparisons would not contrast specific graphs but the general statistical structures revealed in particular graphs, and ideally would let us compare graphs on different node sets. I will sketch recent work, based on smoothing ideas, for estimating nonparametric graph models which facilitate just such comparisons.
