Abstract:

New technological developments have provided an opportunity for an enhanced classroom experience for both the instructor and student. Whether you are teaching an online course, a class through interactive television, or an in-class lecture, technologies such as touch screens, smart boards, recording devices, clickers, social media, and online simulations can facilitate synthesized learning. Jose-Miguel Yamal and Michael Swartz will facilitate a discussion around using technology to enhance the classroom learning experience, including recommended ipad/tablet apps, a how-to demonstration, sympodium and/or smart boards as teaching tools with PowerPoint, Blackboard, Google+ hangouts, Google forms, clickers, and online resources for simulations. Whether you are introducing technology in the classroom or have been using it for a long time, join us for this roundtable discussion to improve the use of technology in the classroom.
