Abstract:
|
A mental health diagnosis is mainly based on the individual physician's assessment and there is no laboratory test to specifically diagnose mental illness. Our goal is to build a step towards a systematic diagnostic tool by utilizing the multimodal brain imaging. We consider prediction models in a functional data analysis paradigm that offers an improved way of mapping brain structure, function, and metabolism on clinical outcomes of mental disorders. Our method can detect underlying relationship between various aspect of brain and clinical outcomes among obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) patients.
