Author(s): Matilde Bini*+ and Leopoldo Nascia and Alessandro Zeli
Companies: Universita Europea di Roma and European University of Rome and Italian National Statistical Institute
Keywords: Dynamic model ; Employment ; Foreign ownership ; Panel data
Abstract:

The presence of foreign ownership business in Italy is increasing since the introduction of the Euro currency. This presence affects the market structure and may produce spill-over effects on employment rate, as well. The paper deals with the change of the occupational rates which depends on both the presence of international business and its consequences on the Italian economic framework. The analysis is carried out by exploiting the information of a wide financial reports dataset of the Italian National Statistical Institute. In particular, a panel dynamic model (GMM) is applied sector-by-sector, with a panel of Italian firms referred to this last decade.
