Abstract:
|
Mixed models are widely used to make inferences for longitudinal studies based on fixed and random components. Normal assumption is required for the random effects and the residual errors; however; it is against the reality for studies toward weight loss surgeries. A more flexible approach using spline functions is popular to describe treatments across time. The study looks at the longitudinal effect and group comparisons of the bariatric surgery for three different outcomes using regression splines.
