Abstract:
|
Even in this very high-tech world with ever more technologically savvy students, sometimes it takes only inexpensive 'props' and a little classroom time to create memorable experiences. Often listed by students as one of their favorite activities, this idea started with a box of wooden farm animal puzzles bought while on vacation. It has developed into a number of activities in which students have discovered elements of experimental design and then generated data for analysis. Some of the experiments have yielded results worth keeping for teaching purposes and a few have yielded some very puzzling outcomes.
