Abstract:
|
Students, in an Introduction to Statistical Reasoning class, as their main project, were required to design, execute, and write up the results of a sample survey, observational study or a randomized experiment on a topic/hypothesis of interest to them. That is, conduct a research experiment from inception to "publication" (or at least a report that should meet most publication/reviewer standards). Such projects are not unique; however, our focus on preparing results is novel. The write ups of the research are to meet the criteria of the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) guidelines. This presentation will summarize some of the research generated by the students and the quality of the final reports based on the CONSORT guidelines.
