Abstract #311453
Title: Ranked Set Sampling in Biased Distributions
Author(s): Kaushik Ghosh*+
Companies: University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Keywords: Biased sampling ; Ranked set sampling ; Empirical process
Abstract:

Estimation of the underlying (unbiased) distribution using generalized ranked set samples from its various biased versions is investigated. A nonparametric estimator of the distribution function is proposed and its asymptotic properties investigated. Results of simulation studies and illustration of the proposed method with a real data set are also presented.
