Abstract:
|
In many clinical and social studies, data collected are frequently ordered categorical. In order to compare mean responses of respondents from different populations, we propose to use the latent normal model that conceptualizes the categorical responses as manifestations of some underlying normal variables. We discuss pairwise comparison methods that are appropriate when the responses are multivariate. Furthermore, a real-life example is presented to illustrate the proposed method.
