Abstract:
|
We shall discuss a wide range of topics related to statistics and policy, including the policy context; roles and goals; politics and statistics; quantifying, communicating, and accommodating uncertainty; how to be policy savvy; successes, failures, and opportunities; and education for policy involvement. Participants should be ready to pose questions and discuss their experiences, both positive and negative. All should leave the roundtable with improved understanding of the key issues in and approaches to engaging in the policy arena. A handout with examples will support the discussion.
