Abstract #311035
Title: Holistic DOE: Learning in the Face of Uncertainty
Author(s): Scott Wise*+
Companies: JMP Division, SAS Institute
Keywords: DOE ; Screening ; Holistic
Abstract:

Uncertainty in the design of products, processes and services is a real problem which can result in poor performance, despite the use of design tools such as DOE. However a holistic approach to doing DOE can reduce this uncertainty by leveraging observational learning to get into the right experiments. This session will show how new methods can help us learn from even messy historical data to find the most important factors (Screening) that can lead us to the right experimental design (DOE). Relevant case studies will be reviewed that show how holistic DOE can make a difference in your approach to creating new and improved designs.
