Abstract:
|
Statisticians know full well that our science, our profession, is vital to science, to business and industry, and to government. We also know that the contributions we make are largely unknown. The problem, of course, is not that we mind working backstage, but that in many cases our lack of visibility results in lost opportunities when lack of engagement of a statistician results in lower quality information and decisions. We will talk about how we can better tell our story, and steps the ASA is taking to increase the visibility of our profession, the "StatImpact" portion of the ASA's "Energize our Future" agenda for the 175th anniversary.
