Abstract:
|
The panel will address how to negotiate successfully throughout a career in academia, government, or industry, from making the most of a first job offer to maximizing post-promotion opportunities. Strategic career negotiation is of particular relevance to women who, in part because of a reluctance to negotiate, earn less than their male counterparts. The panel will cover issues to negotiate and strategies for doing so. Panelists will include faculty, researchers, and administrators, representing industry, academic institutions, and government funding agencies.
